Living Astrology with the Animals of the Zodiac
A Creaturely Approach to Finding Your Way with the Stars
About the Course
Living Astrology with the Animals of the Zodiac is a series of journeys that weave together biology, astrology and myth to foster a lively education with the creatures of the constellations themselves. While attending to these animals in order to learn about them in their own right, we cultivate the conditions for spontaneous discovery of, and embodied empathy for, the places inside us through which the Zodiac comes to life.
Through experiential exploration, creative process and reflective inquiry, you will be guided into a truly participatory engagement with the symbols of astrology. This course centers your own lived experience, while fostering perceptual flexibility and co-creativity with our more-than-human kin of Earth & Sky.
As the Thema Mundi, birth chart of the world, is a Cancer Rising, so too does this journey through the Zodiac dawn with the Crab:

The Zodiac means
“Circle of Animals”
The Zodiac offers us a kaleidoscopic vision to Life, to which each animal contributes its own turn.
Every animal (i.e. astrological symbol, planet, mythic character, archetype, aspect of Self) perceives through its own sensorium, evolutionary adaptations and limits, strengths and vulnerabilities, hungers and desires.
Every creature lives own perceptual world that is distinct from all the others — both enlivened by its own genius and limited by its own particular logic, language and knowledge.
This kaleidoscopic capacity of perceiving through a multiplicity of eyes, without giving a single one supreme reign, can aid us humans in finding our way through the most perplexing of situations.
Living Astrology with the Animals of the Zodiac is for those who feel called:
to steward a diverse field of creaturely perspectives and stories;
to feel and deepen into one’s embeddedness within a web of myriad human and more-than-human relations;
to strengthen connection to one’s own core Self in ways that support dynamic shape-shifting and perceptual flexibility;
and who want to feel more held and in tune, as they find their way through this wild time on Earth.
“Taking responsibility means that in the face of barriers we still have the capacity to invent our lives, to shape our destinies in ways that maximize our well-being.
Every day we practice this shape shifting to cope with realities we cannot easily change."
Every day we practice this shape shifting to cope with realities we cannot easily change."

A Foundation of Self-Care
These sessions are meant to be joy and play based sources of Self-discovery, renewal, growth and connection. They are not psychotherapy nor a substitute for psychotherapy. However, since we may be connecting to the felt-sense and the body, and the body is a beautiful storehouse of memory, emotion, impulse, instinct, sensation — we know that it sometimes can bring us unexpected places. Participants are required to come with a current self-care practice and familiarity with their nervous system. While our connection with each other and with the astrological field can be richly resourcing, participants are ultimately expected to be responsible for their own wellbeing and what they need to do to take care of themselves.
And a willingness to play!
I know that play doesn’t always come easily, especially during stressful moments. But also, oftentimes play is exactly what we need to perceive a situation through fresh eyes and to find our way through challenging situations.
Here, play is given a chance to expand beyond the confines of our old notions or definitions of “play”. We can even surprise ourselves, discovering that play is something we’re still “good at” even as serious adults.

Meet the Instructor
Nicole is an astrologer, artist and parent raising two young humans. Each of these journeys draw her ever more deeply into the question of how to tend a benevolent field of consciousness that’s able to receive a child and foster their incarnation —whether this ’child’ is an actual human child or a creative vision within that wants to be lived out. She approaches experiential astrology as a practice of giving permission, resource and relational container to our many creative instincts, so that these creatures might express and be felt from the depths of their own essential nature while also re-membered into wider life cycles, rhythms and wholes.
Nicole has been a consulting astrologer since 2017 and has formal training in Biology and Internal Family Systems. She is currently in the final months of the Hermes-Hestia Experiential Astrology Practitioner Program.
Nicole is a Sagittarius Rising (Jupiter in Aquarius) Taurus Sun and Capricorn Moon and she loves her work.
