You just need the right space and pacing for the dreaming body to speak.
But that doesn’t mean it works to leave the thinking and astrologizing mind undeveloped, or out of the picture …
Both Body and Mind, Earth and Sky, must find their way together again for Astrology to provide alive, wild and generative language and understanding to experiences previously held in the implicit realms of the physical and emotional body.
Cultivating Radical Self-Kindness
A Return to Our Senses is a 1:1 experiential astrology container designed to help cultivate an internal environment of radical self-kindness that liberates more of your life force. It is built to support the last chance that Uranus has to be influenced by earthy, sensual Taurus before it speeds up again in Gemini, in the new era of Air and Fire.
Together we will dream into the origin story of the Earth Mother Gaia and Sky Father Ouranos, with the intention of resourcing ourselves as astrologer-humans who want to take the leap from our apogee as Thinkers, into a radical remembrance of ourselves as also carriers and potential stewards of an ancient instinctual awareness, felt-sense and emotional intelligence, intuition and imagination.
What’s made possible when you move at your own pace?
If you’re practicing Astrology, your brilliant mind probably really wants to participate in creatively tending to Life.
And if you’re drawn here to Experiential Astrology, your body probably also really shares in that hunger.
This is offering makes space for both mind and body to feel the value of their involvement in the wild process of Emergence.
Here, you’ll receive ample space and attuned pacing for the body to share its genius, in its own ‘words’ and ways. However, we aren’t just returning to the nonrational, to the body, to some more ‘pure’ state of primal awareness, attempting to shake off the thinking mind and its proclivities to travel outside the present moment.
We’re also giving the mind ways to re-embed itself, to connect, to experience surprise, awe and wonder, re-discovering the ways it is really suited to work in service of relatedness and Love.
We’re re-engaging Sky with the Earth— inviting the mind to take flight in ways that help the body to soar on the winds of shifting perspectives, while not getting carried away by illusions of separation and ungrounded promises of getting free from (or gaining control over) its seemingly uncivilized, inscrutable, stubborn ways.

In the beginning, there was Chaos.
Chaos gave birth to Nyx (Night) and Erebus (Darkness). The two gave birth to Earth Mother Gaia.
Without a mate, Gaia gave birth to Ouranos (the Sky). Gaia then partnered with Ouranos to birth the twelve Titans: Oceanus, Coeus, Crius, Hyperion, Iapetus, Kronos, Theia, Themis, Mnemosyne, Phoebe, Tethys, Rhea.
However, in addition to these Titans, other unusual creatures resulted from the union of Gaia and Ouranos, such as the hundred-armed Hecatoncheires and the one-eyed Cyclopses.
Ouranos responded to such strangeness, by continually shoving them back down into the Earth, into the womb of Gaia. Perhaps their creations did not live up to his expectations or reflect back what he wanted to see in himself. Perhaps their ugliness lay in their inability to fit into his conceptual understanding of things.
Eventually, Gaia enlisted Kronos (our astrological Saturn) to help her rebel against her husband Sky God. When Ouranos came to Gaia in the night, Kronos lay in wait, surprising him a sickle fashioned by the Gaia, cut off his genitals and threw them out into the sea. As they landed, there was a bubbling-frothing-foaming of the sea out of which Aphrodite, Goddess of Love, Beauty, Pleasure, Procreation was born.
A Return to Our Senses is a 1:1 experiential astrology container for what subtle seemingly out-of-place, not-yet-sensical, perhaps never-before-seen thing that wants to emerge from the body
but that’s at risk of being pushed back down by the thinking mind.
A Return to Our Senses is a living home, building, shelter, sanctuary that protects these offspring of the dreaming Earth from the conditioned mind’s response to suppress what doesn’t immediately lend itself to the sense-making of a dis-embedded Sky.
Though Uranus has come to be astrologically associated with freedom, liberation, and rebellion, Ouranos of myth can be this force of dis-association and oppression, as is depicted in his pulling up and away from Gaia and pushing unsatisfactory creations back down into her womb.
Similarly, though Saturn has come to be astrologically associated with limit and restriction, he can be a force of resistance, as is shown in his assistance to Gaia’s rebellion.
In A Return to Our Senses, we invite Saturn to play a re-imagined shelter to Gaia’s children. To hold space for the dreaming Body to share her brilliance and genius long enough for the Mind to be seduced into a state of open-endedness, un-finishedness, curiosity, playful flirtation and hopefully eventually into a maturing, collaborative partnership …
One in which the Body wants and can take deeper pleasure in having her brilliance Be Seen again by the Mind, and not have this experience so quickly slip into something akin to being the object of an unwanted ‘male gaze’, mansplaining or other such ways this can go…
Letting the Animals inside us Live
A Return to Our Senses is just one of hopefully many story-tellings, medicines and sanctuaries for the parts of us that have felt categorized and mechanized as “live-stock” — animals owned to serve a world organized by linear Time, progress and profit.
It’s a mutual re-discovery of the wilder generosities of Time that can be accessed from within the particular contours of this here-and-now. From this particular intersection of already-related un-furlings. From this particular sensuous, sensible, sensitive animal body wandering the sensuous labyrinth of Time.
How it goes
This work is an interweaving of felt-sense inquiry, creative prompts with clay and astrological reflection that invites your dreaming body into a Taurean-style conversation with the living Skies.
The bulk of our journey will be focused on Earth, with the felt-sense and clay.
Between sessions, you’ll also receive creative and reflection prompts to help continuing to connect with and nurture what’s emerged/ing.
Towards the end of our journey together, we’ll spend more time gazing up at the Sky (at the natal chart, current transits, progressions, profections, solar returns depending on what feels most presently relevant) to access more context and resources that enhance self-reflection, digestion, meaning-making and respectful relating with what’s come forward.

A way of being-working-playing at the roots to actively break down both toxins and once-healthy forms that have now-fulfilled their purpose, freeing energy to be recycled and re-combined in innovative ways, through acts of co-creative re-memberings, across the inter-webbings of our minds, bodies and imaginations.
It’s an opportunity to receive the wonderment and the nourishment of our interconnectedness as it reveals itself periodically amidst our shared not-knowing, as we keep tending the process of Emergence, as we re-root and re-orient our mind, voice and language back into the Body, the Earth and our universal Field of relations.
